This site is maintained Allen R. Pyle as a resource and reference for those involved in sustainable design and Permaculture projects in the Great Lakes bioregion and beyond.
Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Michigan State University and a master’s in entomology (insects) also from MSU. He is certified in Permaculture design through the excellent PC program at Lost Valley Education Center.
In addition to over 20 years of organic vegetable gardening and landscaping experience, Allen has 18 years experience in professional horticulture at C. Raker & Sons, Inc., a large, very well-respected wholesale propagation nursery. Allen served in a variety of roles at Raker, including the company’s Perennial Guru. He still regularly speaks at industry events on propagation and perennial growing, and is available for consulting.
